Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton, 2010)

"6th most successful film of all time?!
And I thought I was mad."
What's it about? An update on the classic tale. Alice, now a young woman, returns to Wonderland and once again meets the likes of the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the Red Queen (Helena Bonham-Carter), Tweedledee (Matt Lucas) and Tweedledum (er..Matt Lucas), the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry) and the rest of the gang.

Is it any good? All a bit mad, really. The various inhabitants of Wonderland are impressively and freakily realised by the CGI, but plotwise, it makes about as much sense as a bottle of chips. But, despite that, I kinda liked it.

I don't trust you. What do others think? Fairly lacklustre reviews, but this didn't seem to matter. Astonishingly, this is now the 6th most successful film of all time. All-time! Pricing for 3D tickets probably helped, but that's really quite mad.

Anything else I should know? A lot of notable actors, and Barbara Windsor, voiced various characters. See if you can pick out the voice talents of Alan Rickman, Christopher Lee, Michael Sheen, Paul Whitehouse and Timothy Spall.

What does the Fonz think? It's all a bit messy, but has some good moments.
