Sight and Sound Critic's Poll 2012

So the big news today (apart from Syria, all the death in the world and the Olympics) was that long-running, influential film magazine Sight & Sound released its new Critic's Poll, compiled every 10 years, which reveals The Top 50 Greatest Films of All Time. Over 800 film professionals, including critics, academics and distributors, submitted their Top 10 lists, from which the list was generated following a highly complicated system in which each film voted for got awarded a point. At the end, the film with the most points won prizes the poll. Simples! So these guys must really know what they're talking about, right? Well, check out the list below and judge for yourself. I've presented it in the form of a handy print-out-and-keep checklist, so you too can be as sad as me when it comes to recording which films you have and haven't seen. Then, you can read reaction to the poll here, here or here, or dismiss it all as elitist bollocks and get back to watching Damien: Omen II on TV (It's on Film4).
